Painting, beds, and an embarrassing picture…

"There is no glory in star or blossom till looked upon by a loving eye; There is no fragrance in April breezes till breathed with joy as they wander by."
-William C. Bryant

Painting has never been considered a relatively clean activity by parent standards.  If you wondered why this is, Mom took a series of pictures that prove why children painting is best done outside.  Everything was going fine until James got some paint on his hand.  It went downhill from there.

If you go back and look through this blog you will see multiple picture series of the kids knocking over block towers.  I’m happy to report the kids have figured out how to do this on their own, which is good fun for them while allowing the parents to get things done around the house.

Ashlyn’s new bed is fully assembled and she slept in it for the first time this weekend.  Both the kids are excited about her new room.  I’ll post more pictures once the rest of the bed is completed, we still need to install the curtains and possibly a new lighting system for under the bed.  Preparations for the new baby are slowly coming together.

On a completely unrelated note, the kids thought to the dog needed a bath.  They were right of course, and it was fun for the kids to get splashed by Rusty shaking the water off.  This may seem like a simple thing, but it’s good to see the kids helping out more.  We’re going to need their help when the baby gets here.
