Sprouts, mischief, and a birthday dinner…

"There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million."
-Walt Streightiff

The garden is growing, the seeds are sprouting, but it’s a mystery plant that came from the compost bin that has attracted the most attention from our two little farmers.  So far we have been able to keep a helpful James from pulling the plant out of the ground before it’s ready.  I wish I could say the same held true for the rest of the fruits and vegetables.

If you have kids, or have been around kids, or even heard of kids, you already know that they will constantly test the limits of what they can get away with.  This is normal, but sometimes they will outsmart you by doing things they know you don’t want them to do but won’t get really mad about.  Here are pictures of Ashlyn and James feeling guilty after squishing water beans and pulling out things from the bin while we were trying to clean.

Mom and James joined Ashlyn and me at gymnastics this weekend so I was able to take a few pictures.  Most of these are a little blurry because they were taken from the observation deck.  She’s continuing to do really well in her new class.  We still haven’t had a single breakdown and she’s genuinely enjoying learning new skills.

Mom’s birthday is next Friday but the Wolfe clan got together this weekend for an early celebration.  Ashlyn had fun with Heidi (aka Favorite Person) and James spent some time with a bat.  Inside Mom tried on some new shades, complete with mustache, and we all had a great time eating dinner and playing cards.
