“I made a necklace out of seashells, but I lost it at the beach. I don’t think I’ll ever find it again, so I might as well make a new one.”
― Jarod Kintz
Mom and the kids went off to Freeport this week to visit Grandma Doodle who was sick in the hospital. They stayed for four days, and while they were there they took some time to see a few things around town. One of those places was the local museum where they got to build and check out some pre-historic fossils. James especially liked the large dinosaur. Ashlyn tried to get eaten by a panther of some sort.
The highlight of the trip for the kids was the beach. It started as a mission to collect seashells, progressed into a game of “chase the water” as it went up and down the beach, and then finally ended in a full on run through the Gulf. I wasn’t there, but I’m told that it was the most fun the kids have ever had in one place. Beach, we will be back.
When not chasing water or dinosaurs, the kids relaxed on the porch swing and in the RV’s loft bed.
On the way back they made a stop in Houston to drop off cousin Ami at the University of Houston where she’s going to school. The kids got a kick out of Amy’s dorm room.
It was a long for days but it was a good trip. And I was glad to have them back home.
