A pool and a wrong way slide…

"Being positive is like going up a mountain. Being negative is like sliding down a hill. A lot of times, people want to take the easy way out, because it's basically what they've understood throughout their lives."
-Chuck D

Isla is growing like crazy.  It seems like not long ago when she was barely getting out one word and now we’re hearing things like “Mommy I need more milk”.  She knows more words than we can figure out, it’s usually a matter of translating.  She’s also trying to be like her big sister, this time by imitating Ashlyn’s morning Kindergarten ritual.

And just when I think we’ve reached a new milestone in behavior, I hear something in the book room and walk in only to find Isla attempting to lock herself into Rusty’s cage.  I suppose we still have a little more growing to do.

The kids wanted to swim in the backyard this weekend so we inflated the pool on the porch.  The water was cold but of course they didn’t care.

I don’t normally like taking the kids to McDonalds but sometimes it can’t be avoided.  For all its faults, McDonald’s does give the kids something to do on a rainy day.  Normally Isla is forced to play in the little kid area because she can’t climb the steps in the bigger play house.  She solved this problem by climbing up the slide all the way to the top.  The other kids were there to celebrate Isla’s victory with her.
