Gymnastics and gingerbread men…

"I’d rather regret the risks that didn’t work out than the chances I didn’t take at all."
-Simone Biles

Kids are occasionally helpful.  “Helpful” is a relative word of course.  This weekend we attempted to get them to be helpful with their laundry.  James and Ashlyn did ok, we eventually had to take Isla out of the room because she felt it would be more productive to throw clothes around instead of fold them.

Ashlyn’s second gymnastics meet was this weekend.  Unlike the last one, we went into this meet knowing she wasn’t quite ready to move to the next level.  We did it mainly to help build some experience participating in meets.  We expected her to pass beam and vault, but not bars and floor.  She ended up passing on floor, pulling of a skill she hasn’t been very consistent at yet.  Congrats Ashlyn!!

Nina brought some gingerbread men she purchased for a fundraising event that Aunt Lisa was hosting.  I’m not sure how much of the candy actually made it on the ginger bread man, but it was a great way to entertain the kids while we made dinner.
