James and Ashlyn attended art camp this week. They both said they had a great time, and I’d say it was a good way to spend a summer week based on the quantity and quality of the art they brought home. They even got to work on a larger piece together, choosing to paint a Pokémon named Charmander. Ashlyn painted the Pokémon, while James worked on the grass and clouds.
All three kids finished up two weeks of swimming lessons this week. As a reward, the class got a free day of Bedford splash which our kids took advantage of. I expect they’ll be going back soon when they can spend more time there.
We finished the week by celebrating America’s birthday, first with some poppers at the house and then by watching the big fireworks show put on by the Bedford Boy’s Ranch. We don’t have any pictures of the fireworks due to lighting, but the kids did great staying up past their bedtime. Next year we’ll probably drive out of the city and shoot off our own fireworks.
