"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough."
-Oprah Winfrey
The kids had the week off thanks to the Thanksgiving holiday. The weather was nice so Mommy thought the kids would enjoy a trip to play Putt-Putt. She was right, especially about James and Isla who had fun playing around the course.
Mommy saw a sale a few weeks back on glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces and picked up a few packs in preparation for a night where the kids would have fun with them. That night came over the break, and they definitely had fun running around the yard in the dark making patterns with the lights.
Thanksgiving arrived and we headed to Nina and Papa’s for the first of the Thanksgiving dinners. Uncle Scott was in town, which made the dinner extra special. The kids played while the parents talked, and then everyone sat down for a great dinner.
The next day we went to our second Thanksgiving dinner, this time and Grandma and Grandpa’s. While we were there Ashlyn taught herself the Adam’s Family theme on the piano while the adults and other kids ate dinner and played games.
Nina gave the kids advent calendars at Thanksgiving but they weren’t allowed to open them until Sunday. As soon as our company left (Ashlyn had a friend spend the night) the kids tore them open and looked into the first box. Whether it was Legos or charm bracelets the kids had a good time opening them and are looking forward to opening the rest as we get closer to Christmas.
The kids look forward to decorating the tree each year, and one of their favorite parts is putting the topper on the tree. This year it was James’ turn, and he was excited to get to put on the finishing touch.
