Cakes, balloons, and tightropes…

"Today is not a good day to be wearing pants."
-James

Isla has become more confident with the tightrope we made in the backyard.  That doesn’t mean she doesn’t need help every now and then.  Luckily she has a big brother who will, on occasion, decide to help his little sister with something.  We love seeing it when it happens.

We had a lot of balloons laying around the house and we asked the kids to get them off the floor.  Naturally, the solution they chose was to rub them on James’ head and stick up up on the wall with static electricity.  While it’s not exactly what we were going after, you have to give them credit for the ingenuity.

Isla wanted to make a cake, and Ashlyn volunteered to help.  They decided to use a giant popsicle stick as inspiration and created a popsicle cake, complete with a bite taken out of the corner.  At least it’s a happy popsicle, and it gave them something to do which is a precious thing nowadays.
