"There is a child in every one of us who is still a trick-or-treater looking for a brightly-lit front port."
-Robert Brault
Due to the pandemic we knew there would be no trick or treating around the neighborhood as we have in prior years. Instead our “bubble” friends group came over for a different type of Halloween. The kids got dressed up and we walked our cul-de-sac where tables had been set up by neighbors with individual bags of candy. That was a nice gesture and the kids appreciated getting a little taste of the old Halloween.
Afterwards, the kids went through a homemade escape room that took them through three rooms of the house. They managed to escape in one hour and three minutes and we hope it was a fun way to make Halloween special this year. This was followed by a black light egg hunt where the kids ran through the backyard with black light flashlights looking for eggs painted with fluorescent paint.
At the end of the day, the kids got to stay up late eating way too much candy. And isn’t that all they really want on Halloween?
