"If it weren't for the rocks in its bed, the stream would have no song."
-Carl Perkins
A local group is attempting to set a new Guinness world record for the most number of painted stones. Since the kids have enjoyed painting and hiding rocks in the past, we thought it would be fun to join in on the record. The kids painted a bunch of rocks and we went to go check it out. There were indeed a LOT of painted stones along the paths and we spent a while checking them out after the kids added their own contribution to the collection.
Summer break is coming to a close and there was a flurry of activity this week as the kids tried to make the most of it. This included climbing…
Playing black light putt-putt with friends…
And going bowling.
It couldn’t be all fun ang games, Isla had dance camp and got to perform her routine in front of the parents. She was nervous, but got a stuffed animal for her troubles so it turned out good in the end.
The week was topped off with a trip to Hurricane Harbor. James and Ashlyn are both tall enough now to ride most of the big rides, and Isla is able to go on some of them too with a parent. There’s only a few more weeks left, which includes Isla’s birthday, so we’re preparing for next week to be just as crazy.
