Ponytails and wagons…

"I never rode a bull - I'm not that stupid."

Potty training continues, and he’s making progress but it’s slow.

Isla started school this week and from what we’re told she’s doing really well so far.  She mainly just watches and smiles at all the activity, so I think all the noise and movement is interesting for her.  With school comes the pig tails, which I forgot about, and who can resist taking pictures of a baby in pigtails.

In developmental news, other than  her looking cute of course, Isla is now sitting up and babbling.  You have to be near her still while she’s sitting as she tends to randomly fling her self forward or backward, but she’s getting it.

Ashlyn is old enough to start playing kids video games, and we found a new one for her to tinker with this weekend. James tried to play with her, but his character mostly just ran into things.  He tried though.

I consider myself somewhat of a foodie, and I’ve always been interested in the science of cooking.  For my birthday Mom got me a molecular gastronomy kit that came with a lot of strange chemicals that do weird things with food.  We got to try it out this weekend, starting with balls of yogurt that you could roll around in your hand before eating.

Nina and Papa got some tickets to see the rodeo this weekend and we took the kids to check out the action.  The seats as it turns out were right on the floor of the arena.  They were so close that when the wagons rolled by we got pelted with dirt.  Ashlyn really had a fun time of it, James and Ben got impatient as two year old boys tend to do.  The rides afterwards were fun, and it was hard to get the kids to leave.
