"Your state all-around champion is Ashlyn Flinn!"
-Announcer
James played in his first full tournament this weekend, with one game on Friday and two games on Saturday. He did great in all three games and helped set up some big plays. They ended up one goal short of making it to the semi-finals, but for a new team they did really well and it bodes well for the future. Nice job this weekend James!
Not all picture shave stories, these are just some random pictures we liked and wanted to include on the blog (Ashlyn making ramen, Isla posing with a flower, and a picture Mommy took at Sonic playing with her phone filters).
Ashlyn and two other girls in her group at gym qualified for the state meet. This year it was held in Whitney, which is an hour and a half drive south of DFW. After making our way into hill country, and spending 2 minutes driving through the entire town of Whitney, we made it to the meet location. Ashlyn was nervous, but as always the pressure gave her focus. In gymnastics, you have good meets and not so good ones. It’s part of the sport, but this time it was a good one. Ashlyn ended up placing 1st in floor, 3rd on beam, and 3rd on bars. For the first time, and at the state meet no less, she placed first in all around and was declared the state all-around champion. We’re always proud of her, no matter how she does in a meet, but it was great to see her hard work pay off in such a big way. Congrats Ashlyn!
