"I can think of many reasonable excuses for needing a cocktail, but Cinco De Mayo is always a no-brainer."
-Rachel Hollis
Cinco de Mayo came this week and we thought it would be fun to cook a traditional Mexican meal. James got really into it and helped cut, chop, mx, and stir the various dishes. Afterwards the kids enjoyed a hot chocolate using a Mexican chocolate using Abuelita and milk. I’m not going to say a Mexican grandmother would have approved of how the meal came out, but it was still an interesting learning experience for the kids.
Mother’s Day is approaching and this year’s craft needed extra time. So we started getting things ready by cutting sticks, laminating pictures, gluing things together, and making a big mess in the process.
James’ old soccer team ended when the coach got pulled into three other newly created teams and James was one of two kids that was selected to move to a larger, more established team. They had their first game together this weekend the sisters came out to cheer him on since they didn’t have any gymnastics meets this weekend. And by “cheer him on”, I meant they read and drew pictures. But I’m sure they were cheering on the inside.
