"No language can express the power and beauty and heroism of a mother's love."
-Edwin H. Chapin
Isla has just started learning to crawl and already decided that standing up and walking would be a better idea. She has a ways to go before she’ll accomplish it but but she’s pulled herself up a few times and is up on her feet more and more often. It’s funny how you look at a house differently when a baby gets mobile and I suppose we should be happy we only have to look a foot or so off floor for unsafe objects. That will change soon enough.
With Mother’s Day approaching the kids wants to make something special for all the moms. 225 popsicle sticks and a carpet covered with glitter later, the Mother’s Day surprises were ready.
We celebrated Mother’s Day on Saturday with a few of the moms and the kids were happy to play with their cousin’s Ben and Sydney. They were really excited to give their surprises to Mom and Nina, both of whom were appreciative of the colorful gifts.
For scheduling reasons we are going to have a Mother’s Day dinner with the Wolfe’s next weekend. The kids still wanted to give Grandma her surprise though, so we stopped by for a few minutes to deliver it and play.
To the mother of our own house, we (Ashlyn, James, Isla, and me) can’t say thank you loud enough or often enough for everything you do for us. Day in, day out, you tirelessly work to give us the best life possible. They may not appreciate it now, but they will, and I already do. Happy Mother’s Day, we love you!
