"One of the greatest gifts I've ever gotten is my daughter."
-Ace Frehley
Little Isla continues to grow and her last visit to the Doctor was a good one. Her big brother and sister are doing their best to entertain and teach her.
Parties don’t just happen, and as usual Mom put a lot of work into the decorations. This year included a Hello Kitty piñata and Hello Kitty hanging things (I’m not sure what they’re called). Ashlyn and James helped too, and everything still came out looking great.
We had two birthday parties at our house this weekend. The first was, well, a first. We’ve always had the family over around her birthday but this year was the first where she wanted to invite friends from school. We bought a bounce house for the event, figuring we would need it with all the future parties, and by all accounts Ashlyn and her friends had a great time.
Celebrating a child’s birthday is an important thing, and it also gives us a good reason to get all the family together. The brisket was smoked, the fixin’s were served, and we really enjoyed spending time with everyone. Ashlyn even opened up some presents with people watching which was a big step for our shy little daughter.
Happy Birthday again Ashlyn, and thanks everyone for making her 5th birthday so special!
