Rainy swimming and a rocket…

"When you launch in a rocket, you're not really flying that rocket. You're just sort of hanging on."
-Michael P. Anderson

The kids wanted to go on a quick trip over Labor Day weekend, and by consensus we selected a trip to NASA to use the family pass I purchased when we took Ashlyn on her Stella trip.  This time we weren’t quite as rushed and we got to experience more of the Johnson Space Center.  The favorite spot for the kids was the Saturn V rocket, which is so large that it’s hard to really comprehend unless you see it in person.

Labor Day itself turned out to be a rainy one.  And what better way to spend a rainy afternoon than go swimming?  The pool felt great and the kids had a lot of fun swimming in the rain, which was a new experience for them.
