"It will be celebrated with pomp and parade, bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other."
–John Adams
There was a gymnastics awards banquet this week and this year Daddy got the honor of taking the girls. Ashlyn and Isla were recognized for their awesome performances over the past season, and it was fun to watch them go up and receive their certificates. Ashlyn and Isla both put in a lot of work this year, and we’re proud of their achievements.
After the awards ceremony the girls got out on the dance floor and had some fun. Isla and a friend took center stage while the rest did their thing on the dance floor. They were in their element, and I was perfectly fine being a proud bystander.
Since the kids are getting older Mommy thought they were ready for some real fireworks. She picked up some neighborhood friendly versions, meaning nothing that will fly, and the kids had a lot of fun lighting them before it got dark. We went to a local baseball field when the sun started going down to settle in and wait for fireworks. The kids ran everywhere, we played games, and then watched the fireworks light up the sky. Happy birthday ‘Murica!
